Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a manufacturing associate in Houston, TX. Base pay starts at $19.00 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential for the second shift. Training may occur during the day shift.

You will operate heavy machinery, interpret blueprints, and perform preventive maintenance while following safety rules. Responsibilities include handling parts, reading specifications, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually.
• Experience with equipment such as forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws and stretch wrap machine is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment.
• Maintain safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Stand/walk 8–12 hours daily and handle repetitive material movement.

Job Description

Base pay starts at $19.00 per hour + $1.00 shift differential

Shift Hours: 2:30PM - 11:00PM, hours may vary depending on operations.

(Training may occur during Day Shift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations
• Knowledge of production techniques and have the ability to produce quality-building parts
• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
• Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, andother technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
• Standing and walking 8-12 hrs. every day
• Repetitive material handling. Some in awkward body positioning.
• Repetitive climbing on and off of equipment and ladders
• Varying and extreme working conditions inside and outside (Hot, Cold, Rain, Shine)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Experience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
