Responsibilities

  • Operate and tend machines following department procedures.
  • Stop machines when parts do not meet requirements and ensure quality.
  • Maintain production records and logs and assist with packing as needed.
  • Assemble packing materials and prepare cartons labeled to customer specs.
  • Perform bench work in various departments as required.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety standards and housekeeping.
  • Assist or instruct other personnel as needed.

Position Responsibilities
Tend Machines
  • Working to department procedures.
  • Responsible for stopping the machine when parts do not meet requirements.
  • Alert to deviation changes-visual only. Use and understand principles of quality control.
  • Maintains production records. May be required to stack skids or pallets in designated areas.
  • May be required to dispose of scrap, cardboard boxes, etc.
  • May be required to perform packing duties. This includes receiving packing instructions to customer specifications, insuring correct packing materials are being used and cartons are properly labeled.
  • May be required to assemble packing materials as required.
  • Performs various bench work assignments in various departments such as sorting, testing, etc.

  • Operate Heat Set Equipment, Bench Top Resistance Welders, Automatic Power Press, Secondary Automatic Press, Spring Coiler, Spring Secondary Grinder, Spring “Kick” Press, Spring Automatic Set Out Machine, Bench Grinder, Assembly Equipment, Riveters. Uses Fixtures, Gages, etc. as assigned.
Other
  • Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Education
Experience
  • High School graduate or demonstration of equivalent skills.

  • Ability to understand written instructions.
  • Manual dexterity skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Visual Sharpness (corrected) to operate machines (including visual inspection procedures).
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work. Substantial movements (motions) of the arms, wrists, hand and /or fingers.
  • Ability to lift objects from lower to a higher position or moving horizontally from position-to-position.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted.
