Responsibilities

• Operate production machines (lathes, grinders, mills, brake presses, punch presses, band saws, lasers, etc.) per prints and specs.
• Produce required quantity within specifications and tolerances.
• Measure finished parts with precision tools to ensure quality.
• Maintain logs of units produced and record errors or discards.
• Inspect equipment before use and adjust/set up as needed.
• Calibrate and adjust machine setups for correct specs and sizes.
• Control machine settings and feed materials to machines.
• Monitor machine cycles for jams and conformity to specs.
• Read orders, blueprints, and schedules to determine setup specs.

Job description

• Operate various production machines within the facility in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, brake presses, punch presses, band saws, banders, slitters, lasers, and similar equipment.
• Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Measure finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Calibrate, adjust and correct machine set-ups to ensure products are produced to the correct specifications, thicknesses, and size.
• Control and adjust machine settings, and feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated and automated machines.
• Monitor machine cycles to detect jamming and to ensure that products conform to specifications.
• Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read orders, blueprints, and schedules to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.
• Manipulate controls and observe dial indicators in order to monitor, adjust, and regulate speeds of machine mechanisms.
• Set distance points between rolls, parts, guides, meters, and stops, according to specifications.
• Position, align, and secure arbors, spindles, coils, mandrels, dies, and other equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Compliance with departmental SOP's and ISO procedures.
• Adherence to Safety Standards and policies.
• SMP (Self-Managed Performance) Participation and Engagement.

REQUIREMENTS:
