Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a reliable Machine Operator 2 for our Jackson, Mississippi location. The role involves operating basic machine equipment, setting up processes, and ensuring quality production while following safety procedures.

You will load/unload components, perform adjustments for changeovers, troubleshoot minor issues, and participate in continuous improvement projects. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with basic math and blueprint-reading skills preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents, drawings, and blueprints is essential.
  • Basic math skills needed for measurements and gauging.

Responsibilities

  • Operate basic machine equipment and ensure proper setup of controlled or mechanical systems.
  • Load/unload/inspect components per Operational Method Sheets (OMS) using proper gauging equipment.
  • Make adjustments for changeovers as needed.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and correct minor machine time outs.
  • Set up/Operate 1 up/down workstations.
  • Perform monthly preventive maintenance.
  • Inform team leader about processes or equipment needing attention.
  • Complete rework and scrap documentation as required.
  • Package service parts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects to improve processes, productivity and quality.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and practice 5S.

Your Role On Our Team

The Machine Operator is responsible for performing basic machine operation, working with computer-controlled equipment or mechanical based machines to make sure they are set up properly, working well and producing quality products.

You’ll Be DISRUPTIVE Through These Duties And Responsibilities
  • Basic understanding of motor components and functions (40%)
  • Load/unload/inspect components to Operational Method Sheets (OMS) by use of proper gauging equipment in a safe and efficient manner (30%)
  • Make adjustments as required for change overs (30%)
  • Identify, troubleshoot and correct minor machine time outs (20%)
  • Setup/Operate 1 up/down workstations (20%)
  • Perform monthly PM requirements (10%)
  • Inform team leader about processes or equipment requiring attention (10%)
  • Complete rework and scrap documentation as required or requested (10%)
  • Package service parts (10%)
  • Participate in completion of continuous improvement projects specifically designed to improve processes, productivity and quality, especially those related to corrective actions (10%)
  • Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area (10%)
  • Practice 5Ss (10%)
