Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks an Operator I to support production by operating various equipment to meet quality criteria and work instructions. You will cooperate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, productive operations and adherence to culture standards.

This role emphasizes following procedures, logging production data, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. On-site shifts from 7:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm to 11:00pm offer routine hours and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 0-1 years of machine operation experience.
  • Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to produce quality product per instructions.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment following 6S standards.
  • Log production numbers electronically and monitor process metrics.
  • Identify and escalate safety risks on the floor.
  • Work with Set Up Technician to resolve equipment issues.
  • Adjust fixtures and tooling to ensure correct part movement.

Job description

The Operator I supports production by operating a variety of equipment to produce quality product per provided criteria and work instructions. This position is required to cooperate with other cross-functional departments to ensure and maintain part quality, proper procedure execution, a safe and productive work environment, and culture standards.

This job description lists major areas of responsibility and additional job activities may be added at any time.

Shift Hours:

  • 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm
  • 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:00-11:00pm

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety policies and practice 6S standards to maintain a safe and clean working environment for all employees.
  • Identify and escape potential safety risks on the floor.
  • Operate numerous types of equipment, independently or in a team environment, per the work instructions.
  • Utilize electronic devices (computer, iPad, etc.) daily to reference work instructions, control plans, visual criteria, in-process quality checks, and accurately log production numbers.
  • Perform repetitive tasks as needed and maintain production pace and quality standards as specified by the applicable documentation to meet process metrics such as delivery, efficiency, and quality.
  • Recognize and react to problems with equipment, escape as required.
  • Close attention to detail concerning product quality through utilizing visual criteria and escape issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Use fixtures, jigs, and hand tools as necessary to ensure proper position and/or movement of components and parts.
  • Ability to work on a raised platform, safely
  • Work with Machine Set Up Technician to resolve problems with equipment.
  • Clean equipment as required to ensure proper operation.
  • Conduct Autonomous Maintenance tasks as prescribed.
  • Place processed parts into containers and palletize per the work instruction and at specified quantities per the part tag.
  • Other duties and projects as determined by business and production needs.
