Job summary

Pepper Source, Ltd. is seeking a Machine Operator for the Gertrude line on first shift (hours 6:30am-3:00pm). Overtime is required based on production needs.

The position pays $17.00/hour and involves tending a machine that performs packaging functions such as filling, marking, and labeling. Responsibilities include starting the machine, reporting malfunctions, making minor adjustments, inspecting packs for quality, feeding product to conveyors, and mounting supplies on spindles.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Mechanical experience or understanding of mechanical functions.

Job Title: Machine Operator-Gertrude

1st Shift

Hours: 6:30am-3:00pm

Overtime required based on production need.

$17.00/hour

Tends machine that performs one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, and/or labeling by performing the following duties:

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Starts machine and observes operation to ensure machine is operating properly.
  • Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, changing cutting dies, setting guides, clearing away damaged product containers, and setting machine zeros.
  • Inspects filled packs to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
  • Demonstrates good time management in choosing the best time to send your line to break when the lead is unavailable.
  • Feeds product to conveyors.
  • Mounts supplies such as film on spindles.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into a computer and touch screen.
