Responsibilities

  • Perform machine setups including calibration and cleaning to start a production cycle.
  • Sand and deburr parts if necessary.
  • Tend to the machine and product to ensure quality and proper operation.
  • Use and interpret gauging equipment to verify product dimensions.
  • Complete daily machine check sheets and production recording.
  • Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines (e.g. speed).
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Ensure quality parts are being produced by making frequent quality checks.
  • Feed the necessary raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Load programs and set up tooling in machines.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Machine Operator’s primary responsibility is to operate production equipment, including but not limited to punch press, press brake, folding machine, turret press, flatbed laser, tube bender, buffing line, CNC mill and saw.
