Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a skilled Machine Operator in Bloomfield, CT to set up, operate and tend multiple cutting and forming machines. Pay ranges from $22 to $25 per hour for 1st and 2nd shifts, with weekday schedules from Monday to Friday.

Preferred 5 years of related experience; 1-4 years will be considered. Candidates must be able to pass background and drug tests and have a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-5 years considered; 5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect workpieces for defects, and measure workpieces to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions and adjust as necessary.
  • Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions.
  • Set up and operate machines such as lathes, cutters, shears, borers, mills, grinders, presses, drills, and related equipment.
  • Position, adjust, and secure stock against stops, on arbors, or in chucks and fixtures.

Machine Operator

Location:Bloomfield, CT (06002)

Pay Range: $22-25

1st Shift: MON - FRI 6:30am to 3:00pm 2nd Shift: MON - FRI 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Experience: Preferred -5yrs of related experience, will consider 1-4yrs experience

SUMMARY:

The main function of a Machine Operator is to set-up, operate, or tend more than one type of Cutting or Forming Machine tool or robot.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect workpieces for defects, and measure workpieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
  • Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
  • Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences.
  • Set-up and Operate Machines, such as Lathes, Cutters, Shears, Borers, Millers, Grinders, Presses, Drills, and auxiliary machines, to make metallic and plastic workpieces.
  • Position, adjust, and secure stock material or workpieces against stops, on arbors, or in chucks, fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms, manually or using hoists.
  • Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Change worn machine accessories, such as cutting tools and brushes, using hand tools.
  • Make minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines and notify supervisors when major service is required.
  • Start machines and turn handwheels or valves to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.

Experience: Preferred -5yrs of related experience, will consider 1-4yrs experience

SKILLS:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Basic ability to read blueprints.
  • Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Education / OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5 years related experience Preferred but 1-5yrs experience will be considered.
  • Pass background & drug test
  • Be on time and at work every day
  • Open to US Persons- US Citizens or Permanent Residents
