Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Machine Operator I to perform machining of engine blocks and cylinder heads for Caterpillar Diesel Engines. You will report to Production Managers as part of a dynamic operations team focused on high-quality production.

You will operate machines, maintain inventory and quality records, and ensure a safe, clean workspace while meeting or exceeding company standards. Exposure to CI initiatives and cross-functional collaboration is valued.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 months’ experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with electronic standard work or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Comfort working in cross-functional teams and contributing to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Operate machining equipment to produce high-quality parts free of defects.
• Maintain records related to inventory, quality, defective parts, and equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
• Meet or exceed production standards as set by the company.
• Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
• Follow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions.
• Communicate with supervisors and managers about processes within the assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production goals.

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. What Would Make You a Top Candidate

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information

• $19.00/hour starting payrate; 2nd Shift will receive a shift premium of 7%
• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 2:30PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00PM-10:30AM. Overtime as required
• Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.
