Description

1st Shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.) 2nd Shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.)

As a Machine Operator, you will perform a variety of standard operations to produce welded wire mesh, meet production schedules, ensure quality standards, perform set-ups, changeovers, and assist with routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Work from specifications, job orders, and instructions.
• Set up manufacturing processes, ensuring equipment operates at correct speed and temperature.
• Determine necessary materials based on production specifications and ensure process tanks are filled appropriately.
• Select and install correct wire for production runs, feed wire, and position for pickup.
• Operate equipment, adjusting temperature, speed, and product parameters as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance and upkeep of line equipment.
• Identify and correct processing issues.
• Report serious problems to maintenance or supervision.
• Tag products properly.
• Use tools and equipment such as skimming/drossing tools, Uni-shear, splice tools, hand tools, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintain records of operations.
• Move materials as required.
• Detect and report equipment issues or abnormal conditions.
• Keep work area and equipment clean, safe, and organized, following safety rules.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 2-5 years of machine operation experience or outstanding mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and be detail-oriented.
• Organized and capable of maintaining a clean workspace.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
• Good mechanical skills.

Physical Demands

• Standing for most of the shift.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Physical activities such as pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, and moving heavy materials.
• Repetitive hand motions.
