Job Description

Job Title: MACHINE OPERATOR – 1PM

Location(s): San Marcos

Wage: $21 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1pm-9:30pm/finish, overtime as needed

Hours Per Week: 40+ hours; Full Time

Ideal Candidate Criteria: Similar experience in the Food Manufacturing environment with heavy labor experience.

Job Duties

  • A machine operator follows food safety guidelines while donning appropriate PPE for each duty as required.
  • Operates all production equipment proficiently, including machine functions, records, paperwork, and testing.
  • Replenishes and refills packaging such as cartons, jugs, caps, or bags.
  • Follows protocols for cleaning fluid processing equipment and SSOP standards for sanitizing the work area.
  • Inspects milk cases/packaging for damage or foreign substances.
  • Uses a hand-operated non-electric pallet jack to transport stacks of cleaned empty milk dispensers to the filler machine station; reports malfunctions.
  • Follows quality inspection standards and removes products not meeting quality standards.
  • Ensures safety, quality, and accuracy during operation from start to finish.
  • Performs housekeeping and basic machine cleaning after product runs.
  • Performs troubleshooting and resolves basic issues.
  • Collects samples for quality assurance testing.
  • Completes paperwork accurately and legibly, in accordance with SOPs.
  • Responsible for food safety, prerequisite programs, and food quality in the designated area.
  • Reports food safety and quality issues immediately to management.
  • Works as part of a team; trains or assists others as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area, including cleaning ingredient warehouses, dock areas, hallways, chemical areas, and forklifts.
  • Communicates effectively with supervision regarding production issues.
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills Needed: Knowledge of SQF & GMPs. Basic English skills for data entry and paperwork.

Physical Requirements: Regularly uses hands, talks/hears, and senses taste/smell. Must stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, and push/pull/lift up to 55 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment: Exposed to cold, wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and moderate to high noise levels.
