Job Description: Machine Operator - 12 Hour Night Shift

Location: Mars Wrigley – TNN Site, Chattanooga, TN

Position: Machine Operator

Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift (2-2-3 rotation). Additional details will be provided during the interview.

Role Overview:

Operators are system experts responsible for safety, product quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. They work as part of a team to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products, operate and change over machinery, and train or assist other associates as needed. Strong skills in action orientation, communication, interpersonal relationships, and team building are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and change over machinery in the assigned area
• Perform general housekeeping and area deep cleaning
• Maintain supplies and complete all documentation accurately
• Perform cleaning, inspection, and lubrication tasks (CILs)
• Adhere to the Five Principles of Mars

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Minimum:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of manufacturing or machine operation experience
• Basic math, PC, and digital technology skills (e.g., tablets, HMI touch screens)
• Basic English communication skills
• Basic literacy for documentation
• High physical dexterity

Preferred:

• Over 2 years of manufacturing/machine operation experience
• Experience with high-speed machinery
• Certification in Material Handling Equipment
• Experience in lean manufacturing environments

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing (1-50 lbs.)
• Handling and reaching for products
• Fine finger movements and standing

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet Good Manufacturing Practice requirements
• Maintain cleaning standards
