Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate production equipment following established procedures. The role supports material handling, quality checks, and accurate production records on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months in manufacturing, good math skills, and is at least 18 years old. This is a on-site position in Selma, AL and requires adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing and/or assembling experience required.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Complete work area set up.
• Operate and feed the machine safely and efficiently per procedures.
• Stack completed products per procedures; may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; ensure equipment is safe to operate.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and report issues.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintain production records as required.
• Check materials and finished products for standard compliance.
• Perform duties per established safety and quality procedures.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
