Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Machine Operator at Weathers St, Youngsville, NC. The position pays $19.75 per hour with core hours 6:00am–2:30pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00am–2:00pm Friday.

You will build wire harnesses, perform inspections, and assist with line duties in a manufacturing facility. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year in a mechanical/harness role, and must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year in a mechanical trade or wire harness experience.
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship required.
  • Relocation not offered; must be within 50-mile radius.

Responsibilities

  • Build wire harnesses per engineering specs using automated and hand tools.
  • Perform quality inspections and testing per control plans.
  • Set up machines and perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Handle materials and participate in 5S activities.

The pay rate for this position is $19.75 hour per hour.

Core hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm M-Th and 6:00am to 2:00pm Fri

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The Machine Operator will perform basic duties of wiring harnesses.

In this position you will:

  • Routine duties may include building various wire harness to engineering specs, using automated and hand crimpers, and/or soldering activities. This includes performing quality inspections (following control plans, reaction charts, SPC charts, etc.), Pull and continuity testing, gauge checks, machine set-ups, basic troubleshooting, manual handling of material and 5S activities.
  • Non-routine duties may include Sorting/inspection of suspect material, processing rework, assisting other product lines, and other duties, as assigned by Supervisor or Group Leader.
Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a mechanical trade role or harness experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates in the immediate geographical area (50-mile radius) will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous harness assembly experience
  • Must be able to solder or attend training for soldering harnesses
  • Basic working knowledge and experience with computers
Skills

Position Criteria:

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
