MX Holdings’ Pennex York, PA location seeks a Machine Operator to set up and operate brake and punch presses for aluminum components. You will read specifications, adjust equipment, measure pieces, and ensure quality while maintaining safety and documentation.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of machine operation experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to read blueprints and perform basic math. Excellent teamwork and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

Overview

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Machine Operator at our York, PA location. The Machine Operator sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brake presses and punch presses that cut, shape, and bend aluminum pieces by operating and adjusting equipment to meet customer specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receives press assignments and job duties from shop foreman or supervisor
• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Sets stopof guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template
• Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade
• Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine
• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
• Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Gets first and last pieces of fabricated material inspected for quality purposes
• Packs completed pieces for shipment per customer specifications
• Completes all paperwork associated with fabricated pieces
• Weighs scrap material before depositing same in appropriate containers
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling the machine, dies, or workpieces
• Assists other machine operators to set up machines, and stack, mark, and pack finished work pieces
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience

• 1 to 3 years of machine operation in a warehouse or manufacturing environment

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
• Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Ability to apply understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

• The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
