Job summary

Allied Reliability in Pennsylvania is seeking a Plastic Extrusion Operator to support daily production. You will set up extrusion machines, load raw materials, and follow safety guidelines to keep lines running.

Responsibilities include inspections, quality checks, data recording, material handling, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. A high school diploma or GED and basic English communication are required; forklift experience is a plus.

Job description

Responsibilities include but is not limited to advanced set up and operation of Plastic Extrusion Machines as well as performing general maintenance to keep machines operational. Other duties include reloading raw materials, and cleaning work area and equipment using 6s principles.

  • Set up and start machines or equipment in order to begin production processes.
  • Operate multiple machines used in the production process following company safety guidelines and policies.
  • Keep machines operational by performing general maintenance and electrical troubleshooting, addressing any failures or malfunctions with corrective actions.

Prepare raw materials for processing.

  • Examine finished products and raw goods to verify conformance to quality standards and trouble shoot if necessary.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
  • Verify counts on finished products to determine if product orders are complete; mark or tag identification on parts; load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances (forklifts).
  • Record information such as the number of products tested, production readings, and dates and times of product production.
  • Separate products according to weight, grade, size, and composition of materials used to produce them.
  • Separate defective products for reprocessing.
  • Place products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
  • Remove products, machine attachments, and waste material from machines.
  • Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.
  • Read gauges and charts, and record data obtained
  • Clean and maintain work areas, machines, equipment, vehicles, and products.
  • Attendance during work regular work hours and overtime as required, approved by manager.
  • Assist with other areas in the shop/office/warehouse as needed
  • Set up and change out dies and machine parameters.
  • Wear many hats and may be asked to assist with other areas in the shop/office/warehouse.
  • Participates in process improvement projects when assigned
Skills & Abilities
Education
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience
  • Plastic Extrusion Machine set-up and operator experience with some maintenance experience relative plastic processing helpful. Experience with automated equipment a plus. mechanical aptitude required

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English, understand and interpret blueprints.
