Job Posting: Machine Operator (2nd and 3rd Shift)

Tenneco is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of clean air and ride performance products within the automotive industry. Our Angola, Indiana facility is currently seeking qualified candidates for Machine Operator positions on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Position Summary

Machine Operators are responsible for performing one or more processes to support the manufacturing of fluid mounts, torque rods, or components. This includes operating machinery in a safe and efficient manner, while ensuring product quality and meeting production goals.

Compensation
  • Starting Pay: $20.23 – $22.98 per hour
  • Shift Premiums: $1.00/hour for 2nd shift, $0.75/hour for 3rd shift

Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety rules, and operating manuals in English
  • Ability to write and understand simple correspondence in English
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to recognize operating errors and take appropriate action
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools
  • Ability to maintain accurate production records

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged standing; frequent use of hands to handle tools or materials
  • Reaching, bending, crouching, and lots of walking or stooping
  • Regular lifting of up to 40 pounds (heavier lifting may be required occasionally)
  • Visual acuity (close, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment)
  • Ability to move throughout the manufacturing areas
  • Manufacturing environment with potential exposure to extreme heat, noise, dust, odors, and moving equipment.
Performance Requirements
  • Availability to work any assigned shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) – shift preferences are considered when possible
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
  • Dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance
