Job summary

Sauer Brands, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to run packaging machinery and support QA and production reporting. The role includes operating PLC-based form/fill equipment, maintaining smooth line flow, and collaborating with processing teams.

Two shifts available with a 4-day work week and weekends off; 1st shift 6:30 am–5:00 pm, 2nd shift 5:00 pm–3:30 am with $1.75/hour differential. Starting wage $18.50–$22.75 per hour. Location: New Century, KS.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Prior machine operation experience preferred in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate vertical form or horizontal fill equipment with PLC electronics.
  • Maintain continuous product flow and signal production issues to the team.
  • Assist with troubleshooting system problems.
  • Complete QA and production reports and communicate with processing staff.
  • Safely operate pallet jack to move materials.
  • Perform area-wide cleaning and GMP compliance (5S).
  • Follow all safety, GMP and SQF procedures.

Machine Operator

1st and 2nd shift available (4-day work week/weekends off) (Fridays as needed)

1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:30 am - 5:00 pm

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 3:30 am ($1.75/hour Shift differential)

Starting wage: $18.50 - $22.75

Overall Goal of Position

Produce product by keeping packaging machines working efficiently/effectively.

Job Summary

Primary responsibilities of a Machine Operator include properly operate production equipment to ensure continuous product flow, supporting quality assurance activities, and timely completion of all required production documentation.

What will you do?
  • Operate vertical form or horizontal fill equipment with Programmable Logic Control (PLC) electronics.
  • Take action necessary to insure continuous product flow.
  • Assist with troubleshooting system problems.
  • Complete required QA and production reports. Communicate clearly with others in processing and support positions.
  • Safely operate pallet jack to move materials.
  • Perform area-wide and system cleaning (5s) to meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) expectations.
  • Adhere to all safety, operating, Safe Quality Food (SQF), and GMP procedures/policies.
The Ideal Candidate Will have:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior Machine Operator experience.
  • Manufacturing Experience in food a plus.
