Description
Our people are our most valuable resource. We are seeking a highly motivated Machine Operator to program, set up, and operate various CNC Machines.
Responsibilities:
- Process materials to specifications and coordinate with production control
- Program equipment, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, and calculations
- Operate overhead hoists to position materials
- Perform regular calibrations and verify machine accuracy
- Maintain specifications through observation, measurement, troubleshooting, and reprogramming
- Follow safety procedures and regulations
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot repairs
- Document actions and irregularities across shifts
- Participate in educational opportunities to update skills
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Obtain certifications for overhead cranes and forklifts
- Analyze blueprints and specifications
- Download CNC files and perform quality checks
- Unload materials and prepare finished products for delivery
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of oxy fuel and plasma cutting
- Understanding of drill/saw feed rates and speeds
- Inventory and waste control skills
- Basic LEAN manufacturing knowledge or willingness to obtain 5-S certification within 6 months
- Ability to read and understand technical information
- Proficiency with electronic devices like tablets
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and ethical skills
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Basic math skills
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and physical
Physical Demands:
- Manual dexterity for grasping, manipulating, and assembling objects
- Good close-range vision
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach
- Fast, repeated finger, hand, and wrist movements
- Coordination of multiple limbs
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and greater weights with assistance
- Stand on hard surfaces for extended periods in steel-toed boots
