Mativ is hiring a Machine Operator for its Filtration team in Middletown, DE. You will set up and operate extrusion lines to safely produce high-quality products in line with SOPs and production schedules.

The role requires basic math and measurement skills, plus one year of machine operating experience. You’ll work 12-hour shifts, rotate days/nights, and maintain a clean, safety-focused work area.

Qualifications

• 1 Year Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude demonstrated for precision work.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Basic computer skills for production systems.
• Regular, predictable, on-time attendance.
• Ability to use rulers and measurement tools to ensure specs.

Responsibilities

• Safely conduct self and job tasks following proper work procedures.
• Document process line conditions and maintain logs.
• Monitor and stock operating supplies (cores, pallets, boxes).
• Move rolls using pallet jack to staging locations.
• Collect scrap and waste for proper disposal or baleing.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work area and machinery.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear PPE as required.

Shift: The schedule has rotating shifts: 1st 8a-8p, 2nd 8p-8a, 3rd 5p-3:30a. Includes weekends.

Description

The Middletown, DE location is seeking a Machine Operator to join its Filtration team. The Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient set-up and operation of extrusion lines in order to safely produce high-quality products in accordance with the standard operating procedure, production schedule, set-up instructions, and quality specifications.

Responsibilities

• Safely conduct self and job tasks following proper work procedures.
• Perform and document process line conditions.
• Monitor and stock operating supplies as needed or directed; cores, pallets, boxes, etc.
• Move rolls from Machine, utilizing pallet jack to staging locations.
• Collect scrap and waste from process to bale.
• General housekeeping.
• Keep work area and machinery clean, neat, organized, and free of any safety hazards.

Qualifications

Required

• 1 Year Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing environment
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Basic Math, Reading and Writing skills
• Basic Computer skills
• Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
• Ability to use a ruler or other measurement tools to ensure products meet customer expectations

Preferred

• Ability to read and understand prints (part dimensions, fabrication, packaging)
• Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers and dedicated check fixtures and other hand tools

Position Demands

• Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
• Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
• May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)

Physical Demands

• Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
• Be able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
• Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
• Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
