Job summary

Met-Con, Inc. in Cocoa, Florida is seeking a full-time CNC Machine Operator to set up and run plasma cutting, sawing and drilling lines in a safety-focused shop environment. You will read blueprints, measure to specifications, and maintain records of output and material usage.

Responsibilities include selecting proper machine settings, performing preventative maintenance, and safely operating overhead cranes; experience with Tekla PowerFab is a plus. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC plasma table or sawing/drilling/cutting operations is required.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, symbols and notes is preferred.
• Must be able to read a tape measure to within 1/16".
• Ability to perform basic math and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to tolerate hot and cold working environments.
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer systems.

Job Description

The CNC Machine Operator has experience with one or more of the following: Kinetic Plasma table, Peddinghaus Saw/Drill line, Peddinghaus Angle Master, Ficep Beamline. This position also requires experience with overhead cranes, detailed part marking, and manual lifting of 50lbs regularly.

Daily Responsibilities

• Select correct machine settings for optimal operations
• Measure materials to assure conformance with design specifications
• Select correct material type, stock size and dimensions
• Transfer appropriate data onto materials
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Keep an accurate record of daily operations and material usage
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and assist in trouble shooting any machine issues
