Job summary

Cleaver-Brooks in Thomasville, GA is seeking a Night Shift Plasma/CNC Operator to program, set up, and operate plasma tables and related CNC equipment. You will read blueprints, nest parts, and adjust programs to meet safety, quality, and production standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of machine operation experience, a high school diploma or GED, and basic math; on-the-job CNC training is provided. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO.

Qualifications

• Program and operate CNC/plasma equipment per blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and material specs.
• Maintain safety, quality, and 5S/Lean standards.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate the plasma table.
• Nest parts and input material specifications into plasma control computer.
• Troubleshoot and adjust plasma process to meet tolerances.
• Perform basic machine maintenance on plasma/CNC equipment.
• Safely load/unload material and operate overhead crane when required.

Apply to connect with a Talent Acquisition Partner who can provide you more details!Basic Function:JOB TITLE: Plasma OperatorBasic Function:The purpose of this position is to program, set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot a Plasma Table. in accordance to ASME code, for pressure vessels and related components in preparation for vessel test and fit and final assembly; accurately read blueprints; do layout from the blueprints.Essential Duties:Must have the ability to understand and follow all safety rules.Must have the ability to operate the overhead crane, scissor lifts and ladders.Must know, understand, and abide by 5S housekeeping procedures and Lean Manufacturing practices.Must demonstrate full competence in meeting safety, quality and production standards.Must have the ability to locate and nest parts for the plasma cutter.Must have the ability to program, set up, and operate the plasmaMust have the ability to identify correct cut start point(s).Must have the ability to identify and cut plateMust have the ability to troubleshoot and adjust the plasmaMust have the ability to perform basic machine maintenance on the plasma tableMust have the ability to input material specifications into the Plasma control computer.Must have the ability to safely load and unload material in and out of the plasma tableOther Duties:Perform any other job duties as directed by the Team Leader or Supervisor.Education Required:High school degree or GED equivalent preferred; technical training at an accredited school preferred.
