Job summary

A. B. Boyd Co. is seeking a punch press operator in Seattle, WA.

The role involves setting up and running punch presses (5–150 ton), ensuring quality, and documenting production results. You will verify job tickets, inspect tooling and safety, and coordinate with supervision for each run. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, strong math and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and run punch presses (5 to 150 ton) while maintaining quality guidelines.
• Receive production orders from supervisor and verify job tickets.
• Inspect presses for safety and correct operation.
• Obtain supervisor approval before production run.
• Inspect parts during die-out and document issues.
• Document results and finalize completed jobs on the press area.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set-up and run various punch presses (5 to 150 ton) ensuring that die out of parts are within the established quality guidelines
• Receive production order/job assignment from supervisor
• Read job ticket to ensure that the proper hardware and stock are present for production
• Inspect press to ensure that the proper safety precautions have been followed to allow for a safe operation
• Set-up press and obtain supervisor's approval for production run
• Inspect the parts frequently during die-out
• Upon completion of production run, tabulate the amount of parts produced and document any problems that occured
• Clean press area and leave note on press stating that the job has been completed

The pay range for this position: FLSA non-exempt - $22.00-25.00
