What You'll Experience in This Position
In this position, you will get to:
- Perform all work in accordance with Standard Work outline without assistance.
- Perform all work in a safe manner, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Follow the specification of inspections and ensure product output meets drawing requirements per AQL standards.
- Utilize calibrated precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Participate in Lean activities/trainings and actively use Lean tools in daily operations, including SQDCC, Hr. X Hr. Charts, Lean Engagement programs, 5S, and other programs as directed.
- Inform the Team Leader of any operating/material/parts condition that would interfere with quality/quantity production, and coordinate approved actions to resolve the problem(s).
- Perform operator maintenance and operational checks on all departmental tools & equipment. The Machine Operator I segregates and periodically disposes of scrap/recycled material into approved collection containers.
- Frequently lift/move up to and including 50 lbs. Standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing are all required motions of the job.
- Receive daily direction and support from the Team Leader/Supervisor.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read & write (High School or equivalent) needed to comply with written instructions and complete departmental paperwork.
- Up to 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Our San Diego, CA facility is an ITAR controlled site. All candidates must be a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15.

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range
$21.50 - $29.00 Per Hour
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
