ProStaff Workforce Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Machine Operator for our client in New Jersey. The role supports production by setting up and running carton-flow equipment, adjusting settings, and ensuring quality while meeting timelines.

The position is full-time, onsite, offering a contract-to-hire path with a pay rate of $23 per hour. Shifts include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with responsibilities spanning setup, operation, troubleshooting, and safety.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of packaging machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
• High School education or equivalent.
• Basic math and computer skills are required.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English fluently is required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production machinery.
• Perform changeovers between formats and ensure proper startup of equipment.
• Run multiple pieces of equipment to maintain quality production and minimize downtime.
• Conduct periodic checks and solve problems detected on equipment.
• Communicate with team members and support teams to sustain production.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on packaging machines and assist in diagnostics.
• Report food safety and quality issues to Plant Management.
• Keep machines and work area clean and safe, following cGMPs.
• Adhere to standardized work procedures and safety practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s).

Are you detail-oriented and experienced in operating packaging machinery? We’re looking for a reliable Machine Operator to support production, maintain product quality, and keep operations running smoothly.

Full-time Onsite Contract-to-Hire Pay Rate: $23/hr

Shifts

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: 8:30 PM – 9:00 PM (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production machinery. The machine operator will set up and operate carton flow related equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform periodic checks on equipment and solve problems as detected.
• Perform changeovers from one format to another.
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on packaging machines and assist in troubleshooting machine related issues.
• Report food safety and quality issues to Plant Management.
• Keep machines and area clean and safe.
• Follows standardized work procedures and adhere to safe work practices.
• Focuses on continuous improvement environment.
• Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have at least 1 year of packaging machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
