Scotts Miracle-Gro in Palmdale, FL is seeking a 2nd shift packaging operator. The role runs 6 pm to 6:30 am with weekly pay and a starting wage of $22.25 per hour. You will set up and operate packaging equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and log downtime while maintaining quality and safety.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license. Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds, work in dusty/hot/cold environments and read English or follow directions.

This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $22.25 per hour and is paid weekly.

Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

Job location: Palmdale, FL.

2nd Shift: 6 pm - 6:30 am.

What you’ll do in this role:

• Set up and operate machinery associated with product packaging
• Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on a regular basis
• Maintain activity logs/downtime paperwork
• Operate forklifts to transport materials
• Work within the guidelines of all safety procedures
• Actively maintain good housekeeping standards assigned to your area
• Solve daily operations problems with limited supervision
• Ensure product quality by conducting a periodic quality checklist
• All other duties assigned

What you’ll need to be successful:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Able to identify all materials used, detail oriented, follow safe practices and procedures, ability to read English and or follow directions
• Valid U.S. driver's license
• Able to work in a dusty environment, hot/cold/ rainy weather, lift 50 pounds, and be able to climb ladders and work on their feet for the entire day.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to work and communicate well with others
• Attention to detail
