Job description

As a Machine Operator you will operate automatic packing production lines (machines) ensuring the product safety, quality volume and hygiene targets are achieved on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Production Checks & Setup

1. Carry out pre-start-up safety and hygiene checks required for the production line before starting.
2. Set the machines to production recipes.
3. Prepare raw materials for production.

Production Line Operations

1. Replenish packaging to the production line during the shift, including stacking boxes and consumable items like glue and labels.
2. Replace films and replenish them on the line during production.
3. Replenish the line with pallets or other materials needed for production.
4. Resolve machine stoppages promptly.
5. Achieve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and waste targets.

Documentation & Quality Control

1. Complete and maintain correct documentation for each product run.
2. Complete and record quality and CCP (Critical Control Point) checks on the line at defined intervals.
3. Record downtime.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

1. Ensure the safety of oneself and others at all times.
2. Maintain health and safety and adhere to policies and procedures at all times.
3. Maintain the hygiene of equipment during and after job completion.
4. Work as part of a team.
5. Provide feedback to the Shift Supervisor and Production Manager as necessary.
6. Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, safety, and waste reduction.
7. Assist in the training of others and identify own training needs.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Any other reasonable duties, responsibilities, or requests issued by management.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

1. Previous experience in Machine/Production Operator role is essential.
2. Health and safety awareness.
3. The ability to follow instructions and use own initiative.
4. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
5. Good team working skills.
6. IT literate.

Shift Patterns:

Fixed Days 4 on 4 off

OR Fixed Nights 4 on 4 off (Night Shift allowance)
