Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a production operator to support injection and blow molding processes. The role emphasizes maintaining a safe work environment, performing changeovers, and restarting equipment as needed during production runs.

You will document quality metrics, assist with troubleshooting, and participate in lean and HACCP initiatives. Applicants should have injection/blow molding experience, be able to lift up to 35 pounds, and follow GMP safety policies.

Qualifications

• Injection and Blow Molding experience is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds continuously.
• Work involves continuous lifting, bending, reaching and twisting.
• Preference for a High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow GMP and safety policies.

• Assist with the trouble shooting of issues during startup and production runs.


• Work with Quality department, process technicians and maintenance and cross train.


• Promote safety and work safely throughout the facility following all Safety Policies.


• Wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and required GMP gear.


• Be aware of all Emergency Exits and know procedures for Emergency Evacuation.


• Know the location of the SDS Safety Data Sheets and how to utilize properly.


• Know not to operate any equipment or perform any work without the proper training and authorization to complete the task safely.


• Always follow proper LOTO lock out/tag out procedures.


• Never remove or bypass machine guards and NEVER while the machine is in operation.


• Be cautious and aware of lift trucks and moving equipment.


• Report all injuries or accidents to the Department Lead or Manager immediately.


• Understand and follow plants housekeeping guidelines.


• Identify and implement lean and continuous improvement actions.


• All other duties as assigned.


• Member of the HACCP team upon request.


• Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.


• Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts/conditions.
