Core Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Production
- Execute the operation of assigned hardware following established protocols and technical guides.
- Adhere to both written and verbal directives to correctly configure and process components.
- Select and utilize the appropriate hardware, parts, and supplies for every task.
- Help maintain steady output levels to ensure the entire team meets or exceeds production goals.
- Correctly identify components and raw materials throughout the manufacturing cycle.
- Keep precise tallies of piece counts and production logs as mandated.
- Track inventory levels and notify the supervisor if stock runs low or materials are missing.
- Assist with additional production duties as needed to support smooth workflow and scheduling.
- Adjust to evolving processes while gaining proficiency in new equipment, techniques, and skills.
Quality Control & Inspection
- Conduct quality assessments on machined items throughout the manufacturing process.
- Confirm that components align with established specifications and customer requirements.
- Help ensure high standards by identifying defects or inconsistencies and reporting them to the supervisor.
- Correctly identify and apply various measuring instruments and inspection hardware.
- Analyze technical blueprints, sketches, job guides, and other production documentation.
- Maintain high levels of focus and attention to detail to ensure consistent product quality.
Documentation & Data Entry
- Complete all required production and quality-related paperwork with accuracy and timeliness.
- Input production and quality data into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) as required.
- Record piece counts, production details, maintenance tasks, and other essential data accurately.
- Finalize all necessary operator maintenance logs within the Operator Maintenance Schedule (OMS).
Machine & Tool Maintenance
- Execute routine daily and preventative maintenance on assigned machinery and tools.
- Examine equipment and tooling for potential issues that could impact safety, quality, or output.
- Maintain and properly organize all tools and measuring instruments.
- Report any concerns regarding equipment, tooling, or maintenance to the appropriate supervisor.
- Keep your workstation tidy and organized by following standard housekeeping practices.
Safety & Teamwork
- Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by following all safety policies.
- Utilize required personal protective equipment and safety gear correctly.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to management immediately.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other production team members.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Uphold company policies and quality standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in manufacturing, machine operation, production, or quality inspection is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, job instructions, and written or verbal directions.
- Ability to correctly identify parts, components, tools, and measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high product quality.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately input information into an MES or similar system.
- Ability to learn new machinery, processes, and production procedures.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision once properly trained.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and coworkers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for the duration of a typical production shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and concentration.
