Machine Operator
Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to meet production goals while maintaining product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform routine machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Report equipment malfunctions and assist maintenance personnel with repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality data.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), if applicable.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines.
- Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to achieve daily production targets.
- Participate in training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience operating production equipment is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and safety documents.
- Basic math and measurement skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Comfortable working in a production environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the work shift.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements
- Must wear required PPE at all times while in production areas.
- Required PPE may include safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe safety shoes or boots, gloves, high-visibility vest, hair net, beard net (if applicable), and any additional protective equipment required for the job or work area.
- Employees are responsible for inspecting PPE before use and reporting damaged or missing equipment to their supervisor.
- Failure to comply with PPE requirements may result in disciplinary action in accordance with company safety policies.

- May require overtime, weekends, or shift work based on production demands.
- Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and industrial materials while following established safety procedures.
