Job summary

Oxco, LLC is seeking a Machine Helper to support our production lines in Milwaukee. The role involves loading masters to unwind shafts, removing finished rolls, packaging products, and keeping work areas clean around machinery.

This position requires standing, lifting, and bending for 8+ hours daily while following the company core values. You will assist with packaging raw materials in Consumer Packaging and help document material usage and labor hours.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in or primary loading of masters to unwind shafts
• Assisting in or primary removal of finished rolls from rewind shafts
• Cleaning or sweeping in and around equipment
• Packaging finished goods on skids or into boxes
• Sharpening score blades
• Assisting in or primary loading of raw goods onto or into equipment
• Feeding sheets or rolls into packaging equipment
• Offloading finished cartons or boxes from equipment and packing trays or boxes
• Taking finished rolls from unwinds and packing into boxes
• Date lot stamping or labeling finished boxes
• The employee will be required to stand, lift, and bend to perform the duties for 8 or more hours per day.
• A Machine Helper reports directly to a production supervisor.

Consumer Packaging Area

• Assisting in or primary loading of raw goods onto or into equipment
• Feeding sheets or rolls into packaging equipment
• Offloading finished cartons or boxes from equipment and packing trays or boxes
• Taking finished rolls from unwinds and packing into boxes
• Date lot stamping or labeling finished boxes
• Cleaning or sweeping in and around equipment

Documentation of Material Usage and Labor Hours

• A Machine Helper is expected to keep track of his/her time spent working on an assigned job, in addition to assisting the Machine Operator with tracking material usage

Quality

• The employee is expected to meet or exceed the quality requirements set forth by the work order or quality parameters directed by a supervisor

Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• The employee will be required to stand, lift, and bend to perform the duties for 8 or more hours per day.

Problem Solving Skills and Continuous Improvement

• The employee is required to use problem solving skills with supervisors and other employees to assure that the work order is completed in a timely manner and at the highest quality possible. The employee is encouraged to bring forward ideas for continuous improvement in the production process.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS (i.e., optional - primary contacts/interfaces internally and externally)

• A Machine Helper (MH) reports directly to a production supervisor.
• A MH will have direct interaction with a Machine Operator.
• A MH may have some interaction with Material Handlers, Supervisors and/or Customer Service Account Managers
