We’re looking for a Machine Operator to join our manufacturing plant in Louisville, KY.
Pay
- Training rate of $21.80 for the first 30 days; thereafter wage increases to $24.84–$28.60 (depending on role)
- 8‑hour scheduled shifts, up to 12‑hour shifts with overtime
- Availability to work rotating shifts, including overtime and weekends
Responsibilities
- Tend machines that spool, carton, and pack foil
- Work with aluminum foil, paper cores, glue, carton stock, shipping cases, containers, bins, scrap foil, and scrap tubs
- Use tools such as knives, wrenches, air hoses, markers, hoists, and general hand tools
- Move metal racks from dock or holding area to storage and from storage to shafting as needed
- Check metal for proper gauge identification and remove scrap foil from metal core
- Mount rolls of foil onto unwind stands, thread through machines, and start machines
- Observe general operation of lines, product quality, and remove entangled foil; rethread or restart machines as necessary
- Remove jammed cartons as they occur and ensure proper operation of case packers and related conveying equipment
- Ability to multi‑task and pay attention to detail while operating multiple machines
Qualifications
- 2+ years of machine operator experience
- Ability to identify health and safety hazards associated with equipment operation
- Ability to perform minor clerical tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push/pull up to 300 pounds
- Ability to stand for the duration of a shift
- Ability to work in extreme hot or cold temperatures
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with spooling machinery
- Overhead crane experience
