Job summary

Primo Brands in Lorton, VA is hiring a Production Technician for the night shift to operate, changeover, and maintain packaging lines including fillers, labelers, case packers, and palletizers. The role offers $25.45/hour with a 6%-8% shift differential and a Mon-Fri schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Position: Production Technician - Night Shift

Responsibilities

Operate, changeover, clean, troubleshoot, and complete basic maintenance according to company standards on production equipment consisting of fillers, labelers, case packers, palletizers, blow mold machines, wrappers, and forkliftsRecord the following: preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metricsAdhere to safe work practices, good manufacturing practices, and participate in safe behavior observation programsCommunicate effectively when issues arise that prevent operating to company standards/proceduresMeet or exceed performance metrics including efficiency, production, and downtimePerform mathematical calculations as neededEnsure quality product is sent to customers by completing hourly quality checksInspect raw materials against quality standards before loading themInteract with team members from various departments (Quality Assurance, Maintenance, etc.) to maximize output and efficiencyAttend shift, team, and plant meetings during their scheduled timesMeasure and continuously improve the line operation as a team and with other techniciansCrosstrain in other areas to support operations during downtimesMaintain your workstation in an organized and clean manner ensuring safety and good manufacturing practicesFocus on safe work practices and high quality while executing duties with a sense of urgency

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experiencePrior experience in clean manufacturing preferredAbility to work the scheduled shift which includes start-up and handover meetingsExposure to high-speed production and/or basic maintenance is preferredTroubleshooting and root cause analysis experienceAbility to work on your own and with a teamStrong communication skills both face to face and over the radioComputer skills with knowledge of Microsoft applications, SAP experience a plusForklift experience is preferred, but we are able to train new associatesAbility to lift and move 50 lbs. and stand on your feet for extended periods of time throughout the dayAbility to work in adverse environmental conditions, including inclement weather and changes in temperature
