Job summary

Amcor in Libertyville, IL seeks a skilled technician to provide continuous machine support for injection molding and secondary equipment, ensuring uptime and safety. You will monitor OEE impact and communicate with the Shift Leader about repetitive breakdowns, perform preventative tasks, manage material changes, and document all activities while upholding Amcor’s safety and quality standards.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 35 lbs, and working a 6:00 am–6:15 pm

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing or injection molding preferred.
  • Stand/walk for long periods; lift up to 35 lbs; good vision and mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Provides continuous machine support by monitoring secondary equipment for uptime and safety.
  • Understand OEE impact and communicate repetitive breakdowns to Shift Leader.
  • Resolve machine-related problems (bowls, restarts, jams, color changes, nozzle leaks).
  • Supply materials to presses; perform material changes and mold protection actions.
  • Maintain documentation and uphold ISO/BRC, Health and Safety, and standard work procedures.

  • Provides continuous machine support by continuously monitoring secondary equipment for uptime efficiency and equipment safety.
  • Understands Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) impact to effectively communicate to Shift Leader repetitive breakdowns.
  • Resolves ongoing machine related problems (full bowls, closing machine restarts, grinder jams and color changes, purge removal from nozzle leaks).
  • Supply materials to the presses.
  • Assess beyond mold protect for root cause.
  • Fix minor cosmetic issues (burns, string flash)
  • Maintains proper documentation for all materials and machines.
  • Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.
Job Description:

  • Performs beginner-level preventative maintenance tasks (reparing coveryor, material jam, cleaning filters).
  • Performs material changeovers (ie, color changes, additives, etc.)
  • Supply materials to the presses.
  • Restarts Injection Machines for mold protects, intermediate troubleshooting skills.
  • Assess beyond mold protect for root cause.
  • Fix minor cosmetic issues (burns, string flash)
  • Maintains proper documentation for all materials and machines.
  • Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing or injection molding, preferred
  • Regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Standing/ walking for long periods of time
