Flowserve is seeking a Machine Operator I in Michigan (Kalamazoo) to support manufacturing operations by safely running production equipment and performing basic machine setup. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and clear career progression into CNC machining and related skilled roles.

You will read work instructions, use hand and power tools, inspect parts for quality, and collaborate with a team to meet daily production goals while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform basic machine setup and operation activities.
• Read and follow work instructions, route sheets, and production documentation.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete manufacturing tasks.
• Conduct visual inspections of materials and finished parts to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Move materials and components throughout the production area as required.
• Support daily production schedules and manufacturing workflow objectives.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with troubleshooting basic equipment and production issues.
• Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and support personnel.
• Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Role and Impact

The Machine Operator I is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through the safe and efficient operation of production equipment. This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoy working with machinery, tools, and equipment in a hands-on manufacturing environment. As an entry-level manufacturing role, this position provides opportunities for training, skill development, and career advancement into CNC machining and other skilled manufacturing positions.

• Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers.
• Exposure to CNC machines or machining environments.
• Experience working in a production or manufacturing setting.
