Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two or more years of experience operating automation equipment with preventive maintenance.
  • Excellent verbal and written English and Spanish communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start a production cycle.
  • Monitor and adjust machines to ensure proper processing and prevent jams.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to supply pallets for processing.
  • Inspect results and perform minor repairs or adjustments.
  • Document downtime and maintenance activities.
  • Train associates on equipment use and maintenance.
  • Attend daily/weekly meetings to discuss performance and improvements.
  • Assist contractors and manage spare parts inventory.

Job Summary: Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring all depot equipment is performing properly, operating as designed, achieving desired results, and receiving proper preventative maintenance, working to quickly resolve when equipment needs repairJob Duties and Responsibilities:Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.Work with warehouse personnel to supply pallets to the machine for processing.Monitor the machines for proper processing, adjusting as needed and correcting jams as incurred.Control and adjust machine settings were allowed to achieve targeted results.Inspect and validate machine results to confirm all are operating as planned as directed by management.Test operation of machines periodically to ensure they are operating as intended.Fix issues that might occur during the shift that fall within the scope of minor tweaks or adjustments.Proactively communicate daily results, as well as downtime with all operations to prevent future occurrences.Troubleshoot problems with equipment, fixing as much as possible or notifying management when unable to complete minor repairs or adjustments.Demonstrate expertise for the equipment assigned, ensuring the equipment is operating as needed to support the business.Manage, in conjunction with depot management, preventative maintenance and repair procedures to maximize machine uptime and efficiency.Document PM, repairs, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure proper record keeping and references for fixes.Collaborate with depot management to identify root cause(s) of downtime and be able to develop plans to correct and prevent reoccurrence.Assist and monitor all the work being performed by outside contractors.Maintain inventory controls spare parts usage.Train local associates in equipment, including daily use and maintenance needs.Attend daily/weekly meetings to discuss performance and improvements required.Performs other related duties as assigned by managementJob Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDTwo (2) years or more of strong background experience in machine operation and preventative maintenance programs associated with automation equipment, mechanical troubleshooting preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English and Spanish written and verbal communication skillsAbility to quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems with on-site or remote support.Perform work independently under the direction of supervisor, providing regular feedback and updates.Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors)Highly thorough and dependable; can regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours; ability to be on call and work overtime as neededCapability to multi-task and highly organized, with excellent time management skillsDetail-oriented with excellent follow-up practicesExcellent organizational skills: ability to prioritize when requiredFlexibility to operate, and self-driven to excel, in a fast-paced environmentAbility to take the initiative and drive for resultsJob Competencies:Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.Quality Management - Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.Technical Skills - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; Shares expertise with others.
