Job summary

Ichor Systems, Inc. in Fremont, CA is hiring a Machine Operator – General Machine Shop helper. The role involves basic machine setup, deburr, polish, DI wash, leak check, and shop-floor support for weldments in stainless steel and aluminum.

Working hours are 6am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday. Candidates should have 1–2+ years manufacturing experience and be able to lift up to 50lbs. Cleanroom PPE may be required on part of the shift, with competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; welding training a plus.
• 1–2+ years manufacturing experience; welding a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow procedures.
• Experience with stainless steel and aluminum fittings is desirable.
• Ability to stand, sit, and lift up to 50 lbs. calmly.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic set-ups and operate machines in multiple areas.

• Fit, align, and adjust machines to tolerances.
• Follow schedules, blueprints and procedures; report deviations.
• Load/unload cleaning and inspection tasks; maintain logs.

Job Description

Ichor Systems in Fremont, CA has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator – General Machine Shop helper for the weldment (stainless steel and aluminum fittings) manufacturing site. This role will perform basic machine set‑up, deburr, polish, detail, DI wash, leak check and other shop floor support functions.

Shift: 6am‑2:30pm Monday through Friday

Responsibilities

• Perform basic set‑ups and operate machines in more than one assigned area
• Operate complex equipment and machines in a safe manner
• Fit, align and adjust machines or assemblies to meet tolerances and product operating requirements
• Work from schedules, shop orders, established procedures, blueprints, and specifications – identify deviations that can potentially interrupt productivity
• Load and unload various types of cleaning equipment, miscellaneous assembly, inspecting, alcohol wiping, swabbing, nitrogen dry parts, leak check, LPC testing, bag and tag
• Operate air and electric drivers, ultrason‑wash
• Proper use of required PPE, including coveralls, boots, hairnets/head‑covers/face shields, gloves, etc.
• May work in a cleanroom environment all or part of the shift
• Maintain logs and other necessary documents
• Work with direct supervision

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practices, specifications, and work instructions
• Ability to operate a variety of machines
• Basic understanding of related mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts
• Visual acuity and manual dexterity
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good teamwork skills and willingness to learn and help others
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and push/pull/move/lift up to 50lbs safely
• Basic computer skills for manufacturing documentation, email, and navigating basic ERP systems
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
• Some work may be required in a Class 100 Cleanroom requiring full gown PPE

Desired Education, Certifications, and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent; trade program in Welding Technology a plus
• 1‑2+ years of manufacturing or related work experience, welding a plus
• May work in a cleanroom environment all or part of the shift
• Experience with stainless steel and aluminum fittings, measuring devices, and hand tools

Physical Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment may be noisy, dusty, and have temperature variations
• Required use of PPE including safety classes, gloves, and other items
• May work in a cleanroom environment all or part of the shift
• Maintain logs and other necessary

For candidates in CA, the pay range for this position is $19.33 to $32.84 per hour, non‑exempt.
