Job summary

Wabtec in Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled machinist to produce high-quality components for transportation, power generation, industrial, and marine sectors. You will work in a team-focused environment that values accuracy and reliability.

The role involves operating small conventional machines (drill press, grinder, kick press, tumbler), and measuring parts with micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and height gauges. A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience are required.

Required Experience and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • This position requires accuracy and responsibility as many duties must be performed without close supervision
  • Training and/or experience using measuring equipment and reading drawings is needed.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with conventional machine tools.
What will your typical day look like?
  • Capable of running small conventional machine tools (drill press, grinder, kick press, tumbler.) per instructions.
  • Capable of measuring parts utilizing micrometers, calipers, depth gages, height gage, etc.
What about the physical demands of the job?
  • Have the ability to routinely lift up to 40 pounds
  • Be able to stand for extended periods
  • Basic reaching, crouching, bending

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $18-21.00. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
