Placon seeks a dependable Machine Operator to join our Elkhart, IN facility in the Rollfed department. No experience? We will train you and help you grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shifts include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with competitive pay and a $1.00/hr shift differential. You’ll contribute to safety, quality, and continuous improvement while learning thermoforming equipment.

Qualifications

• One year of manufacturing experience preferred; we will train.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English for training, safety, and quality requirements.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely.
• Ability to lift 35–75 lbs with buddy-lift support for heavier items.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot thermoforming equipment.
• Ensure efficient set-ups and proper material usage.
• Inspect machinery and tooling before production.
• Identify and communicate quality issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping; follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out, GMP, SQF, and SPC requirements.
• Complete shift documentation and communicate during shift hand-off.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and wear PPE.
• Use a computer for basic production and quality tasks.

Compensation

Starting compensation range, depending on experience: $20 – $23 per hour.

• 2nd shift differential = $1.00/hr.

Work Schedule

• 1st shift: 6 AM – 2 PM | Monday – Friday
• 2nd shift: 2 PM – 10 PM | Monday – Friday
• 3rd shift: 10 PM – 6 AM | Sunday – Thursday

• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, reach, twist, and stand for long periods
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
