Job summary

Plastipak in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts is seeking a Process Technician to operate equipment for manufacturing plastic containers. The candidate will ensure product quality and maintain safety standards in a climate-controlled environment. This full-time role offers 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma and preferably one year's experience in manufacturing. The position offers a salary between $19.00 and $24.00 per hour, with various benefits including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Manufacturing Production Technician.
Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred.
Ability to work rotating shifts as specified.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of extrusion & blow-molding manufacturing equipment.
Monitor equipment and make necessary adjustments for quality.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
Conduct quality checks to meet customer specifications.

You Will

Operate a variety of top-of-the-line extrusion & blow-molding manufacturing equipment in a clean, safe & climate-controlled environment
Monitor equipment, making adjustments to settings (heat control, water cooling temperatures, hydraulic pressure, etc.) to produce high-quality rigid plastic containers
Troubleshoot equipment & perform routine preventative maintenance
Assure Plastipak customer requirements are met by performing quality checks for specifications, such as bottle weights & dimensions

You Have

Ability to work the following schedule: 6:45 am/pm - 7:15 am/pm on a cycle of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, repeat. This equates to 2 weekends per month off with a 3-day weekend
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Manufacturing Production Technician working with equipment used for high-volume production
Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred
Hydraulics, pneumatics & electrical mechanical basic knowledge
Ability to troubleshoot & problem solve
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
