Job description

We are currently seeking candidates for an exciting machine operator opening in Concord, NC. This position is temp to hire after about 3 months for the successful candidate. The machine operator reports for 12 hour shifts (days or nights) on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. The Slitting Operator will operate production machines in order to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and annual output targets. The pay on this role is $17 per hour.

Duties and responsibilities

• To set up and operate slitting machines according to the appropriate “machine operator’s manual” under direction of the Group Leader.
• Carry and supply materials to the machines.
• Remove finished product from the machine.
• Supplies and finished goods of up to 38 lbs. must be lifted about 75 times per shift.
• (Maximum weight to be lifted is 50lbs.)
• Group Leaders will determine the machine each operator is assigned to.
• Operators will be cross-trained to operate different machines.
• Recommend productivity improvement plans and cost reduction plans (Total Productive Maintenance activity).
• Investigate and analyze causes of target frustration.
• Help train other machine operators.
• Facilitate internal communication and working relationships within areas of responsibility.
