The primary purpose of this job is to operate machines used in the production of the organization’s product. The role may involve equipment/process setup and requires proficiency in a range of procedures and equipment, with the ability to complete tasks independently.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Company Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements.
- Set up and operate the precision metal tube drawing bull wheel process to meet quality specifications.
- Maintain performance levels using the light system process.
- Read and follow technical specifications, maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Apply expertise within the discipline, complete tasks, and provide solutions with some independent judgment.
- Follow established documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Receive and handle customer-supplied and purchased materials properly, including labeling and paperwork.
- Document all work performed on production and shipping/receiving documents or in computer systems.
- Perform in-process inspections of parts and assemblies as per work order, drawings, or instructions.
- Conduct visual inspections, using magnification devices if necessary.
- Perform dimensional inspections using dies, gauges, or measurement systems.
- Maintain segregation of conforming and non-conforming products.
- Collaborate with engineering to improve processes.
- Participate in Operational Excellence activities and teams.
- Work overtime on weekdays and weekends as needed, with appropriate notice for mandatory OT.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational schooling preferred.
- At least 3 years of related work experience or 4+ years operating machinery in manufacturing; medical device experience preferred.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to work with small precision parts.
- Deep understanding of drawings and blueprints, with the ability to interpret them.
- Skill in using precision measurement equipment.
Environmental Working Conditions:
- Use of personal protective equipment as required.
- Work with cutting fluids, solvents, lubricants, and chemicals safely.
- Use lift assist and safety devices where available.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, standing, sitting, reaching, and grabbing during long shifts.
- Attend safety training and participate in safety initiatives.
