Job summary

MCC Label, a global leader in premium labels, seeks 2nd and 3rd shift machine operators to support our printing operations in Chesapeake, VA. No prior experience required, but a bonus for capable candidates as we train the right person.

You will monitor print quality, handle rolls, splice as needed, and record production data in the Globetek system. We offer $18.00–$21.00/hr, a $1,000 sign-on/retention bonus, and comprehensive benefits, with paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for label counts and conversions using US customary units.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close and distance vision and color perception.

Responsibilities

• Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
• Removes defective material and splices the roll web per specification.
• Uses a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing.
• Handles rolls and pallets to prevent damage.
• Understands basic printing and seam defects.
• Records data on paperwork and in Globetek system.
• Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for 2nd and 3rd Shift Machine Operators supporting our printing operations and production to join our team. Experience is not required but always a bonus.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
• Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
• Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
• Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
• Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
• Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Globetek).
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
