Job summary

Aebi Schmidt Group is hiring an hourly non-exempt manufacturing worker to tend various fabricating machines. You will read specs, set up tooling, position pieces, operate controls, and inspect pieces for defects while performing basic maintenance.

The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs, teamwork, and the ability to learn manufacturing software, with a benefits package included.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Tend fabricating machines like cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses and forming machines.
• Read specs and blueprints to determine adjustments and materials.
• Set stops and guides to specified lengths; position work pieces.
• Operate machines by pressing buttons or pedals.
• Observe machine operation for defects or malfunctions.
• Measure pieces and remove burrs, rust, and scale.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.

Regular Employee | Hourly Non-Exempt | $19.40 - 23.60

What you’ll do:

Tends fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Read job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops and guides to specified length as indicated.
• Position work pieces against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
• Push buttons or depress pedals to activate machines.
• Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects and machine malfunction.
• Measure work piece dimensions with necessary tools.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust and scale from work pieces.
• Perform minor machine maintenance.

What you need to be successful:

• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs without assistance.
• Structured training or relevant work experience.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to reason and problem solves as it pertains to position.
• Ability to learn and navigate manufacturing software.
