Job summary

Sun Mountain, Inc. in Berthoud, CO is hiring experienced woodworking machine operators for a full-time role. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Work four 10-hour days (Mon–Thu, 5:00 am–3:30 pm) with overtime on some Fridays. No experience is necessary as paid training will be provided. Daily duties include operating production machines, assembling parts, machine setup, quality checks, and safe handling of materials.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Woodworking/carpentry experience strongly preferred.
• Transferable experience includes machine operation, wood framing or construction, or factory production work.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machines with co-workers to construct parts for custom wood doors.
• Assemble parts into a complete product meeting high quality standards.
• Perform machine setup and load machines.
• Ensure components meet quality standards and take corrective action when needed.
• Check order details to ensure correct wood and proper machine setup.
• Handle and safely move building materials.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Perform prescribed maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Take direction from supervisor to complete work.
• Work in cooperation with a small group.

Job description

Sun Mountain is an industry-leading manufacturer of custom doors and other architectural millwork products based in Berthoud, Colorado, and we are seeking experienced woodworking machine operators. Positions are available Monday through Thursday (four ten-hour days – 5:00 am – 3:30 pm). Overtime is frequent (but not guaranteed), and candidates must be available to work overtime on some Fridays (with weekends free). No experience is necessary as paid training will be provided.

• Operating production machines with co-workers to construct parts for our custom wood doors.
• Assembling parts into a complete product meeting the highest quality standards.
• Performing machine setup and loading machines.
• Ensuring components meet quality standards and take immediate corrective action when needed.
• Checking details of order to ensure the correct wood is used and the machine is correctly set up.
• Handling and safely moving building materials.
• Complying with health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Performing prescribed maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Taking direction from the supervisor to ensure work is completed.
• Working in cooperation with a small group.

Education and Experience

• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with doors, cabinetry, windows, or other millwork preferred.
• Experience operating manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Basic understanding of wood species preferred.
• Solid record of attendance.
• Reliable transportation.
• Skilled at communicating with co-workers and supervisors.
• Proven reliability and dependability.
• Flexibility, including the ability to adapt to changes in priority.

Physical Demands

• Safety glasses must be worn at all times.
• Ability to lift up to 125 pounds.
