Job summary

Service Partners is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure mechanical assets operate safely, efficiently and within budget across manufacturing plant and warehouse facilities.

You will install, maintain, and repair production equipment; develop preventive maintenance plans; manage subcontractors; and monitor safety programs in line with OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education plus 5+ years in manufacturing equipment and facilities maintenance.
• Strong electrical background and knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Experience with welding, refrigeration, compressed air systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and plumbing is desirable.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA and Fire Code regulations.

Responsibilities

• Execute manufacturing engineering processes in collaboration with production and planning.
• Develop mechanical improvements to increase safety, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Manage equipment and facility maintenance, including schedules and vendor relations.
• Install, maintain, and repair production equipment.
• Implement safety program objectives and monitor OSHA regulations.
• Maintain equipment and facilities according to internal standards and procedures.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and manage subcontractors for maintenance programs.
• Report safety concerns to management and maintain records.
• Proactively document maintenance records in the system.

This includes the maintenance of the structural aspects of the manufacturing plant and warehouse facilities.Responsibilities:1. Executes Manufacturing Engineering process. Collaborates with production and planning to understand production needs and the potential impact of equipment and systems performance on safety, schedules, quality and costs.2. Develops Processes and Mechanical Improvements for production to increase safety, efficiency and effectiveness.3. Manages Equipment and Facility Maintenance . Sets and reviews maintenance schedules for manufacturing equipment, building, grounds and environmental safety to support business objectives. Manages equipment, parts, service vendor relations and equipment contracts. Develops preventive and predictive maintenance goals and plans.4. Installation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment.5. Implements Safety Program Objectives . Monitors OSHA regulations. Updates safety-related policies and procedures. Communicates with state and federal OSHA regulators, and responds to requests as necessary.6. Maintains manufacturing equipment and facilities according to maintenance standards set by organization. Follows documented maintenance procedures as well as utilizing creative problem solving when necessary to maintain equipment.7. Maintains spare parts inventory8. Facilitates relationships with sub-contractors when necessary to execute maintenance programs9. Reports to management safety concerns10. Maintains maintenance records in an orderly and accurate systemEssential Requirements:1. Associate’s degree or equivalent education and work experience, and five or more years of experience in manufacturing equipment and facilities maintenance2. Mechanical/technical knowledge of plastic processing equipment and plastic processing equipment maintenance.3. Strong electrical background and experience. Comfortable working to voltages to 4404. Experience with welding, refrigeration, compressed air systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and plumbing would be desirable.5. Excellent project management skills6. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA and Fire Code regulations7. Self-Motivated and ability to work independentlyTHIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONTravel RequirementsEmployees will be required to drive between various locations and/or between locations.Must be able to travel by various means of transport, airplane, train, auto or boat.This position also requires overnight travel.Physical RequirementsThis role requires prolonged standing and repetitive motions, including bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Role also requires good hand-eye coordination, hand dexterity, and physical strength.
