Job summary

Viscofan is seeking a Machine Mechanic - Bilingual (Spanish) to maintain Collagen production equipment in Montgomery, Alabama. The role requires hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance, machine setup and changeovers, and quick resolution of alarms and quality issues.

You will work with operators and QA to ensure compliance with GMP, EH&S, and company policies, while keeping the line safe and productive in a bilingual environment.

Qualifications

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
• Execute machine setup and changeovers in accordance with production schedules and planning requirements.
• Replace and adjust machine components, tooling, and accessories as needed.
• Respond promptly to production and quality issues, working with operators and quality personnel to troubleshoot equipment and process-related concerns.
• Investigate and address machine alarms, malfunctions, and other operational disruptions.
• Maintain compliance with all product quality standards and specifications.
• Support production operations as directed by the Collagen Supervisor to help meet departmental objectives.
• Identify, report, and correct unsafe conditions whenever possible, and support a safe working environment.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and Human Resources guidelines.
• Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements and practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), personal hygiene standards, safety procedures, and other applicable company requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Collagen Mechanic is responsible for maintaining Collagen's Production equipment in continuous operation, carrying out its activities in accordance with the administrative procedures, specifications and operating methods established in the area.

Provides support in making type changes according to the needs of the Planning Program, ensuring compliance with the parameters and conditions indicated in each of the standards specified for each type of product, as well as providing support in production through preventive maintenance and corrective required.

This position will be based in Montgomery, Alabama.

• Education: High School Diploma required, Technician in Electromechanics, Mechatronic Engineer, Mechanic Engineer
• Experience: Have sufficient knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, electricity and electronics.
• Have knowledge of technology to adjust all machinery for each product code and solve any problems that may occur during daily production.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency required due to regular interaction with Spanish-speaking employees in troubleshooting, communication, and maintenance activities.
