Job Summary
Perform predictive/preventive maintenance analysis to anticipate and circumvent equipment failures, enhancing uptime and reducing costs.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Performs specialized technical tasks required to support operations (e.g., IT development, research support, skilled trade)
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical)
- Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield
- Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems
- Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures
- Prepare for new/relocated equipment installations by sizing, wiring, piping, ventilation, etc. according to incoming equipment requirements
- Receive, rig, unload, transport, install, assemble, troubleshoot, and fine tune new/relocated equipment
- Troubleshoot and perform necessary repairs on existing equipment
- Assist engineers in identifying worn or damaged parts that may be needed to complete the repair
- Interface with and assist outside contractors, OEM’s and Technology Process Support groups, in all attempts to install new and repair or upgrade existing processes
- Safely handle hazardous materials and hazardous wastes
- Interface with in-plant Computerized Machine Maintenance System to show status of work and time spent on job

Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

- ☐Master’s Degree
Years of Relevant Work Experience Required: 1-3 Years
Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills
- Requires vocational training or the equivalent experience and may require external certification but typically does not require a university degree
- Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, work orders, schematic and blueprints
- Ability to use a personal computer and various software such as SAP MII
- Ability to read and comprehend Schematics, Multi-Meter & Ammeter Utilization, 3 phase & Single phase motor control, PLC & Ladder Logic programming & understanding (AB SLC-500 & Micrologix, Control logix), Soldering, Mechanical, Power tool usage capability, Welding: Arc and/or TIG, Pipe fitting; Soldering / Threading, Power Transmission applications knowledge (Gearboxes, sprockets, & Belts), Pneumatics / Hydraulics
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with plant personal, supervisors, and managers
- Has working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes
- Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
Required Licenses & Certificates
- Must have successfully completed training for, and is certified or pursuing certification as a State Journeyman, appropriate to plant location, in electrical or machine maintenance OR has 2 - 5 years or more documented maintenance repair experience in a manufacturing environment
