You're building the models that will redefine how the insurance industry understands risk.
Stand isn't a traditional insurer. It builds digital twins of real properties and layers physics-informed simulations on top of them to predict exactly how a building responds to fire, flood, and other events. That means the work you're doing here isn't incremental. It's foundational.
As the Machine Learning Team Lead, you own the technical direction of the ML function. You're setting the standard for how models are built, how infrastructure scales, and how the team operates. This is a role where your decisions shape the product, the platform, and the people around you.
You're working at the intersection of physics-based simulation and modern machine learning, which is a genuinely rare space to operate in. The tooling is current, the problems are hard, and the pace is fast. Stand is scaling quickly and you're coming in at a point where what you build now becomes the foundation everything else is built on.
You'll be leading engineers and technical initiatives across disciplines, which means strong communication isn't optional here. You're the person who translates complexity into clarity, keeps execution tight, and makes sure the team is moving in the right direction.
On the technical side, you bring hands-on experience with modern ML tooling and infrastructure, a track record of leading engineering initiatives from start to finish, and real exposure to physics-based modeling or simulation. You know how to operate across teams and you take ownership seriously.
The compensation is up to $300k base, plus equity and a standard benefits package.
