HUG in New York City is seeking an ML Researcher to join the founding team and own contributions in healthcare AI. You will build reinforcement learning environments, verifiers, and evaluation frameworks for real-world clinical workflows, while shaping the product and technical direction as an early hire.

The role emphasizes developing robust systems, working with healthcare data, and delivering safe, scalable AI solutions with equity participation.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of ML experience.
• Reinforcement Learning and/or Multimodal AI experience.
• Strong Python and production engineering skills.

I'm partnering with a well-funded, seed-stage AI startup that's building the infrastructure behind the next generation of healthcare AI. Rather than building models themselves, they're creating the reinforcement learning environments, evaluation frameworks and verification systems that help frontier AI labs develop safer, more capable clinical AI.

They're looking for an ML Researcher to join their founding team in New York City.

What you'll be working on:

• Building RL environments, verifiers and evaluation frameworks for real-world clinical workflows
• Designing robust infrastructure that frontier AI researchers can train against
• Working with healthcare datasets to improve AI performance on meaningful patient problems
• Helping shape both the product and technical direction as one of the company's earliest hires
